OCC welcomes applications for conference support up to the level of US$2500.00. This support may be sought to co-finance Californian and worldwide conferences and events whose purposes include the enhancing of science and education in the field of oxygen biology and medicine with focus on oxidants and antioxidants, micronutrients, redox regulation. Emphasis on translational research is desired.
The planned events should not conflict with other OCC activities or activities sponsored by other organizations that fall within OCC’s sphere of interest.
Preference will be given to events in developing regions of the world or in developed countries where the field needs a stimulus.
Financial support will normally not be provided to events held on a regular basis; repeated request by the same organization are discouraged..
Awarded OCC sponsored events will be posted on the OCC website and will benefit from information and reminders regularly send to OCC members.
To apply for the sponsorship please fill and deliver the OCC application form at least one year in advance to Prof. Chandan K. Sen, OCC President (Chandan.Sen@osumc.edu).
Please consider that support of the OCC implies the following responsibilities:
1) Use of OCC funds for the indicated purposes.
2) Acknowledgement of the OCC support in all printed (pre-congress flyers, program, book of abstracts, etc.) and web supported material.
3) Delivery of a short scientific report (MS Word file 400-600 words) to cgfraga@ucdavis.edu within 2 weeks after the event. This report should summarize the main themes treated, as well as any breakthrough information. It will be posted on the OCC website. A final budget clearly indicating the OCC financial contributin in relation to other income and expense.
4) It will be also welcome other material that could be posted in the OCC website as PDF files (program, book of abstracts, proceedings, social material as photographs, audiovisual, etc.).
5) Delivery of two copies of the printed book of abstracts and program to program to Oxygen Club of California; c/o Prof E. Cadenas, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, University of Southern California, 1985 Zonal Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90089-9121, USA.
